Christy holds a significant leadership role as President of the Transitional Council for the College of Massage Therapists of Alberta, working towards regulating the massage profession in Alberta.

Christy is currently recognized as a Qualified Expert Witness in Massage Therapy providing opinion evidence in the Provincial Court of Alberta.

April 2020, Christy has been recognized as a stakeholder for consultation with the Provincial Human Trafficking Task Force from Alberta Justice and Solicitor General to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders to identify and close legislative gaps that are exploited and protect those that are trafficked.

May 2019, Christy volunteered with the Human Trafficking & Exploitation Unit of the Edmonton Police Service as a massage industry expert resource, assisting police by identifying legislation and licensing gaps of illicit massage businesses along-side Edmonton community safety.  After the transition of the Human Trafficking unit from Edmonton Police Service to ALERT, Christy has been working with ALERT since July 2020.

Christy has fostered a positive stakeholder relationship with the Alberta government as Chair of the Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance (MVAI) Task Force for Alberta Massage Therapists since 2005.  The multi-organizational motor vehicle Task Force for Alberta massage therapists was struck in February 2005 in response to Bill 53 Insurance reform policy.  The Task Force mandate is to be an authoritative forum for all Alberta massage therapists to share and develop information, and to provide information through delegates to Alberta Government bodies on issues pertaining to Alberta motor vehicle accident insurance.  Christy collaborated in writing reports in identifying legislation impact and protocols affecting massage therapy as a suitable treatment protocol for WAD (whiplash-associated disorder), sprain and strain injuries; recommendations and its incorporation and amendment into the Motor Vehicle Accident Act by the Government of Alberta.

The association acts as an advocate for the industry and provides its members with services including insurance, government representation, insurance industry representation, standards of practices, ethics, and continuing education.  Consulting services consisted of strategic planning sessions, member on a number of task forces, lecturing at multiple NHPCA conferences & workshops throughout Alberta, and providing member support regarding Alberta motor vehicle insurance inquires.
